This song was inspired by one of those brilliant blue sky, white snow, windless days in Orillia, known as the Sunshine City. On this particular February morning. the day was full of promise. The only negative was the mild dread that something or someone could come along and spoil it. On this lovely day, nothing and no-one did.
Lovely Day
Dazzled by the brilliance of a brand new day Full of hope and wonder, glorious display Will this feeling linger? Will this moment last? Will it go the way of snowflakes melting in the grass? Clinging to a vision of all things made new As the current does its best to pull me far from you
It’s the kind of morning that helps me believe That our lives have meaning, that we will receive All the good you promised, all the love you showed When you put your feet upon our rough and rocky road
Clinging to a vision of all things made new As the current does its best to pull me far from you
Lovely day. Sunlit day. Sweet, sweet day Please don’t go away, lovely day
Humbled by the splendour of this fertile land Golden sunrise held tight in a miner’s hand Will it keep its value? Steadily increase? Will it be eroded by a kick aimed at the knees?
Clinging to a vision of all things made new As the current does its best to pull me far from you
Lovely day. Sunlit day. Sweet, sweet day Please don’t go away, lovely day
Lovely day. Sunlit day. Sweet, sweet day Please don’t go away, lovely day Please don’t go away, lovely day
