For more than forty years we have owned a cottage on Horseshoe Island on Lake Couchiching. This “lake of many winds” has blown away many stresses over the years. When we visualize our favourite place in the world, we visualize Couchiching.
Couchiching
Couchiching sings and my spirit takes wing. Her water refreshes my soul God’s little gem embraces me when my heart needs to find its way home
Catching my dreams as they float on her breezes. Blowing away all the wrong God’s simple cure. A setting so pure She calls me to join in her song
Life is a chorus sung by each glorious season Music so ancient it started when God made the evening
Wind the soprano Sun singing alto in harmony Silence the tenor Storm the supporting bass holding me
Couchiching brings a new gift to the altar each day the groom re-appears There’s enough space to join her and place whatever you need to leave here
Butterfly kisses and tender caresses lovingly stroking my skin God’s gentle hand, the lake and the land have settled my spirit again
Life is a chorus sung by each glorious season Music so ancient it started when God made the evening
Wind the soprano Sun singing alto in harmony Silence the tenor Storm the supporting bass holding me Holding me!
Couchiching sings and my spirit takes wing. Her water refreshes my soul God’s little gem embraces me when my heart needs to find its way home Find its way home. Find its way home
