Take Tomorrow

I am slowly learning to be curious rather than anxious about the future. That’s easier said than done, I know. But it’s an intentional choice that I try to make whenever I find myself struggling with today’s challenges and tomorrow’s worries. Choosing curiosity over anxiety works best when I remember to “take tomorrow and give it to the Lord.”

Take Tomorrow

Take tomorrow. Give it to the Lord
I mean what’s unknown! Take him at his word
Just let go

Take your problems
Leave them at the cross
I mean your worries. Leave them just because
He said so

Yesterday is where it should be
somewhere in the past
Let the Lord have each memory that keeps you so harassed

Take your visions. Claim them from the night
The dreams you’re dreaming need to see the light
Don’t say “No”

Yesterday is where it should be, somewhere in the past
Let the Lord have each memory that keeps you so harassed

We were made for visual feasts, not for grey or black
Let the Spirit colour your life and put the rainbow back

So take tomorrow. Give it to the Lord
I mean what’s unknown! Take him at his word
Just let go. He said so. Don’t say “No”
