After our move to Hope Fellowship in Courtice in 2003, Marja and I were given the freedom to cycle across Canada in the summer of 2005. As one of the four original organizers of the Sea To Sea Bicycle Tour and one of the two chaplains (the other being Peter Schuurman), I loved this sabbatical.
Hope Fellowship proved to be a wonderful fit for us for the thirteen years that we would serve there. During this decade I published three books: Pumped!, a book of daily devotions co-written with Peter Schuurman for the cyclists and their supporting churches; In Tandem, an adventure narrative of the bicycle tour; and Follow Me, a Christian discipleship book also co-authored by Peter Schuurman.
I continued to play on various praise teams alongside my preaching and pastoral responsibilities at this diverse and dynamic church.This decade did not yield many songs. Half a dozen keepers.
